MISS MALAYSIA WORLD 2011

Yesterday, at the conclusion of a five-hour event, Chloe Chen Tien Nee was crowned Miss Malaysia World 2011. She will go as Malaysia's representative to London for Miss World 2011.

MISS UNIVERSE MALAYSIA 2011

The Star, 28-Jan-2011: Model and television host Deborah Henry has been crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2011, the second time she has won a national beauty contest. “I am honoured and privileged to be representing Malaysia on the world stage,” said Deborah, who is of Indian-Irish descent. Deborah, who won the Miss World Malaysia title in 2007, was selected by popular vote via the pageant’s official Facebook page combined with the views of a panel of judges.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 27 (Bernama) - The Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation (MUMO), in rebranding Miss Universe Malaysia 2010, is now seeking a brand new beauty queen that can sum up with these qualities: Hip, Urban, Real and Relevant. MUMO chairman Heah Sieu Lay said, after going through some revamp in the organisation, it decided to change the format because of the way the public perceived beauty pageant. "She must be smart, fresh and down to earth, has leadership skills, a great sense of humour and the basic foundation of being a beauty queen. "Traditionally the beauty element has been sufficient, but today the public seek a more street-smart beauty queen - she should not only look good in pictures, but also can deliver in so many other facets of life," he told reporters after a MUMO relaunch ceremony, here Wednesday. MISS UNIVERSE MALAYSIA 2009

The new Miss Universe Malaysia 2009 is Joanne Belle Ng Li Vun. She won the title this evening in Kuala Lumpur. First runner-up was Cassandra Patrick (L) and second runner-up was Claudia Tania Sibert.

MISS WORLD MALAYSIA 2008

In a ceremony held tonite, Soo Wincci won the title of Miss World Malaysia 2008. First runner-up was Cindy Chen; second runner-up was Shereen Kaur.

PETALING JAYA: It was a night to savour for Soo Wincci, who was crowned Miss World Malaysia 2008.

She stood tall even in a grand ballroom filled with celebrities and famous personalities at the impressive Palace of the Golden Horses, for the event aptly themed “A Night to Die For.”

The 23-year-old Selangor lass outshone 19 other finalists with her beauty, captivating grace, and modesty.

“It is unbelievable. I gave my best and expected the worst so I would not be disappointed. When my name was announced, I was stunned,” said the 157cm tall contestant, a law graduate from the University of Reading in England who is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration.

First runner-up was student Cindy Chen, 24, while model Shereen Kaur, 20, took third spot.

Soo won RM10,000, a one-year Celebrity Fitness membership, and a RM800 Schwarzenbach gift voucher.

She was also appointed the advocate for START Foundation, a charity organisation in aid of underprivileged children.

Soo was also crowned Miss Talented, the newly-added subsidiary title at this year’s pageant, for being able to sing in five languages.

Utar student crowned Miss Malaysia Universe

KUALA LUMPUR: Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman student Levy Li Su Lin was crowned Miss Malaysia Universe 2008, beating 13 other contenders. The 20-year-old representing Terengganu, who is also a part-time model, is heading to Nha Trang, Vietnam for the Miss Universe 2008 Pageant in mid-June. The crowd favourite also clinched five of the 16 subsidiary titles at the beauty pageant held at The Gardens Hotel, Mid Valley yesterday. Her interpretation of the pageant's theme “Real women behind the beauty” won her rapturous applause. “Beauty must come in a whole package and it is just as its letters suggest – B, brain; E, elegance, A, attitude, U, unique, T, tall that means standing tall and be confident, and Y, yourself,” she said. Jean Thor Jean Nee, 23, from Federal Territory, and Valerie Chan Hsueh Yi, 23, from Sarawak, won the first and second runner-up titles, respectively.
