The new Miss Corse (Corsica) 2011 is Camille Mallea, 20. She won the coveted title this weekend. The Miss Corse 2011 title gives Camille a ticket to Miss France 2012, which will be held December 3 in Brest. t

bEAUTé bLACk

One of our all-time favorite Miss France titleholders, Miss France 2000 Sonia Rolland, has been very busy lately! She is the co-author of a new book Beauté Black, she was on the cover of last month's Amina magazine, and she is the model and spokesperson for the Mixa line of beauty products. For the life of her, Prof. Chandni still cannot figure out how Sonia did not make top five at Miss Universe 2000 and can only surmise that there was some funny business going on, as is the norm nowadays at Miss Universe.

MISS GUADELOUPE 2011

Cindy Le Pape, 21, 1m73, and a volunteer firefighter, is the new Miss Guadeloupe 2011. She won the title last night at the Club Med de Sainte-Anne. Cindy will now compete for the title of Miss France 2012 in December in Brest. First runner-up, or as they say in French, the 1e dauphine, was Nancy Phémius, 18. Rounding out the top five were second runner-up Aude Bélénus, 19; Catharina Petit, 18, and Jessica Jacobin, 18. A total of 12 women competed for the coveted title.

MISS MARTINIQUE 2011

Miss Martinique 2011 was elected last night during a glittering gala that included the presence of Veronique Caloc, Miss World 1998 first runner-up. The new Miss Martinique 2011 is Charlène Civault, who will compete for the Miss France 2012 title in December. Miss Martinique 2011 first runner-up was Angélique Angarni-Filopon, and Miss Martinique 2011 second runner-up was Maëva Marie-Louise.

MISS REUNION 2011

The new Miss Reunion 2011 is Marie Payet, 19. First runner-up was Laurianne Valmont, and second runner-up was Ornella Chane-Po. Marie won the title tonight during a glittering televised gala. Next up for her is the Miss France contest in December.

MISS TAHITI 2011

The new Miss Tahiti 2011 is Rauata Temauri, 23 and 1m71. She was elected last nigth during a gala ceremony in Papeete, Tahiti. Runners-up were Emere Bopp du Pont and Hitiata Monnier. MISS NOUVELLE CALEDONIE 2011


The first candidate for Miss France 2012 was elected last night. Tokahi Mathieu, 23 and 1m71, won over 11 other women to claim the Miss Nouvelle Caledonie 2011 title. En tout cas, this Sunday and Monday, French network W9 is airing a documentary on Beauty School's very favorite pageant director, or directrice as they say in French - none other than Mme. MISS FRANCE 2011


Miss Bretagne Laury Thilleman, 19, is the new Miss France 2011. She won the coveted title last night in Caen, during the 64th edition of the pageant. First runner-up was Miss Languedoc Jenna Sylvestre. Laury will represent France at Miss Universe 2011 and Jenna will represent France at Miss World 2011.
