Hu's Beauty School's Favorite Person of the Day? Kelly Hu, that's Hu!
In the staff lounge today, Dean Harris and Prof. Chandni were chatting among themselves about how well the election went, praising both Lorraine, our beloved librarian, and Kelly Hu, Miss Teen USA 1985, top six finisher at Miss USA 1993, and Beauty School poll watcher, for their hard work. Miss Scribner, in between nibbles of her gluten-free cupcake and not wanting to be left out of the conversation, noted that Kelly Hu is a proud Democrat and staunch Obama supporter. She said she obtained this information from an anonymous student. She showed a picture (see above) to prove it.

In January, 2008, Kelly participated in a video for Barack Obama produced by Will.I.Am called Yes We Can. She also campaigned for Obama in their native Hawaii and in other states. Lorraine swears she heard Kelly talking to Obama on her cell phone during a brief lull in voting. "Ya'll, Kelly might be able to get us all tickets to an inauguration ball!," Lorraine said to everyone in the staff lounge today, "I gotta find my white opera gloves...hmmm...did I stuff them in an old Kaboodle's? Maybe I can borrow Leona's? Should I wear my hair up or down? What would Diana Batts...I mean Diann Parkinson do?"
On a side note, Miss District of Columbia wins Miss You Decide 2008, with her 93% of the vote for Barack Obama. Second runner-up was Miss Hawaii, Kelly Hu and Barack Obama's native state, casting 72% of her vote for Barack Obama. Third runner-up was Miss Vermont, adopted home of Dean Di Maggio, casting 67% of her vote for Obama.
