Yes, this is a picture of a bag of groceries. No, we have not been spending too much time in the cafeteria downing stein after stein of beer during Oktoberfest. But the following story did come to us from Madge, our cafeteria supervisor. She rarely takes any interest in academic affairs but felt we might be interested in this pageant, so to speak. Yesterday in New York City, Millie Lugo won the title of "The Big Apple's Best Bagger." That's in bagging groceries! She beat out 17 bagger delegates and will now go on to compete for the state title in November, and should she win, she will go to the finals in Las Vegas in February. Alas, we could not find a photo of Millie. Hey we don't make this up, we just report it.
