WHAT IN THE WORLD?

Why its Miss World 1990 Gina Tolleson of the US. Gina was the first runner-up at the Miss USA pageant, and in those days that placement qualified the first runner-up to represent the USA at the Miss World pageant. For those who saw the Miss World pageant that year, well, it was "different," as there were a group of judges not on site, but instead sitting in Norway (if memory serves us correctly) as well as the judges at the venue. Gina was scoring right on the middle of the pack, but eventually pulled it off when the two sets of judges scores were combined and figured into the very odd "Morley scoring system."
