CLASS ATHLETE 1ST RUNNER-UP

The selection of our first runner-up for "Class Athlete" caused quite a stir across the campus of "Beauty School." There was much discussion and disagreement about whether to recognize our next winner. Some factions said that to recognize this form of athletisism was irresponsible and could be hazardous. Others said it was the beginning of a new sports form that was born out of love and enthusiasm. The administration sat back and left it to the students to decide. When the votes were tallied our next candidate prevailed. It was the final moments of 1998 MissUniverse Pageant, Miss Venezuela had just been announced the first runner-up and before Brooke Lee could even begin sashing and crowning Miss Trinidad and Tobago, Wendy Fitzwilliam, a new sport was born - "The Coronation Lunge." Miss Ghana broke rank and lunged at Wendy to congratulate her and almost knocked her over. Here we see Miss Ghana, Fancisca Baafour Awuah (far left) getting ready to make her move. She is our first runner-up to "Class Athlete."
