Karina González Muñoz, representing the state of Aguascalientes, is the new Nuestra Belleza México 2011. She won the coveted title last night in a glittering ceremony from Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. Beauty School faculty and staff have wide-ranging opinions of Lupita Jones, but she always puts on an excellent show! The winner of the also highly-coveted title of Nuestra Belleza México Mundo was Mariana Berumen Reynoso, of Guanajuato state.

Don't forget! According to the Univision website, Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2011, which takes place tomorrow night in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, will be televised on Sunday, although the schedule on the Univision website indicates that it be a one-hour program. Will they really edit it that much?

NUESTRA BELLEZA MEXICO OAXACA 2011

The new Nuestra Belleza Mexico Oaxaca 2011 was crowned last night in a glittering ceremony at the majestic Teatro Macedonio Alcalá in Oaxaca, Oax., Mexico. She is María Teresa Raviela Guerrero, and she will now represent her mountainous, Pacific Ocean-bordering state at Nuestra Belleza México 2011. Present at the gala event were Lupita Jones, Miss Universe 1991 and national director of Nuestra Belleza Mexico, and the reigning Nuestra Bellez Mexico Karin Ontiveros, who will be travelling to Brazil in a few months to compete for the Miss Universe 2011 title.

Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarrete celebrated her 22nd b-day in China, at a party held at the Mexican Embassy in Peking. Ximena traveled to China to help announce the new director of Miss Universe China, Yue-Sai Kan. OUR PICK? A REAL PEARL

Last year, Beauty School's pick to win Miss World 2008 was Miss Mexico. This year, Beauty School's pick to win Miss World 2009 is Miss Mexico. Perla Beltran, Miss World Mexico, won Miss World Top Model on November 28. With this title, she has been fast-tracked to the finals, along with Miss World Japan Eruza Sasaki (Miss World Sportswoman), Miss World Canada Yanbing Ma and Miss World Sierra Leone Mariatu Kargbo (joint Miss World Talent Show winners) and Miss World Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino (Miss World Beach Beauty). Only one one more fast-track title remains - Miss World Beauty with a Purpose, to be announced at the Miss World 2009 final on Saturday, December 12 at Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Other Beauty School faves for the Miss World 2009 title are Miss South Africa, Tatum Keshwar, and Miss France, Chloe Mortaud. In perhaps one of the biggest highway robberies in Miss Universe history, both failed to make top 5 at Miss Universe 2009.

MISS INTERNATIONAL 2009

Miss Mexico wins Miss International! Anagabriela Espinoza Marroquin won the title just a few hours ago in a glittering ceremony from Chengdu, China. First runner-up was Miss Korea Seo Eun-mi, and second runner-up was Miss UK Chloe-Beth Morgan. Beauty School's distinguished Dean's List students will remember that Anagabriela was our pick for Miss World 2008, so we are thrilled she is the 49th Miss International! Viva Mexico!

NUESTRA BELLEZA MEXICO 2009

Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2009 is Miss Jalisco Jimena Navarrete. She won the title last night and gains the right to represent Mexico in Miss Universe 2010. Miss Yucatán, Anabel Solís, won the right to represent Mexico at Miss World 2010.

GO, MEXICO, GO!

In the staff lounge today, Dean Harris and Prof. Chandni jointly announced their pick for Miss World 2008 - Anagabriela Espinoza Marroquín of Mexico. No one else was in the staff lounge to hear the announcement, but Dean Harris and Prof. Chandni made the announcement anyway.
