MISS INDIA WORLDWIDE 2011

The new Miss India Worldwide 2011 is Miss Australia Ankita Ghazan, 19, from Sydney. She was elected last night in Abu Dhabi, during the gala 20th anniversary of the contest. First runner-up was Miss USA Natasha Arora, from Texas. Second runner-up was Miss Trinidad and Tobago Anuradha Devika Maharaj. Rounding out the top five were Miss UAE Farzana Parveen and Miss South Africa Bonnita Sampath. 26 women of Indian heritage from around the world competed for the coveted title.

MISS INDIA USA 2010

Better later than never! Miss Texas India 2010 Natasha Arora, 19, was crowned Miss India USA 2010 on December 12 during a glittering gala at Royal Albert’s Palace in Fords, New Jersey. Rafeiya Hussain, 18, of Virginia, and Shreya Sood, 27, of Connecticut, were declared the first and second runners-up, respectively. Arora will represent the USA at Miss India Worldwide 2011. The 20th annual edition of this pageant is scheduled for April 6, 2011, in Dubai.

MISS INDIA WORLDWIDE 2010


It has been a busy pageant day across the globe! From Europe to Africa to Asia! Crowned tonight in Durban, South Africa, as the new Miss India Worldwide 2010 was hometown girl Kajal Lutchminarain. The glittering gala was held at the Durban International Convention Centre. First runner-up in the pageant was Miss United Kingdom, Niharica Raizada. Second runner-up was Miss Suriname, Cher Marchand.

MISS INDIA WORLDWIDE 2009

Valentine's Day was very special for American communications student Nikkitasha Marwaha when over 2,000 people cheered as an international panel of judges named her Miss India Worldwide 2009 at a glittering pageant held yesterday in Durban, South Africa.

First runner-up was Miss India Australia, Kanchan Verma, 23, a student in sleep research. Second runner-up was Miss India Netherlands, Sunaina Bhoendie, a 20-year-old business management student.

"It's a surreal feeling, which just shows that if one perseveres, anyone can achieve what they want if they go for it with a passion," 19-year-old Marwaha said after she beat 24 other entrants from every corner of the globe at the 18th annual edition of the international pageant.

MISS INDIA USA 2008


Nikkitasha Marwaha from Washington, DC was declared the winner of Miss India USA 2008, at a beauty pageant held in New Jersey on November 23. Girls from 23 states participated in the contest, which is currently in its 27th year. The pageant was organised by the India Festival Committee. Nikkitasha will represent the USA at the 18th annual Miss India Worldwide pageant to be held in South Africa on February 14, 2009. (Photo: Rediff.com)
