Natalija Prica, 22, is the new Miss Universe Croatia 2011. Katica Rakuljić, 24, was first runner-up in the glittering gala. Second runner-up was Kristina Malenica, 18.

CROATIAN PRESENTATION

The Faculty lounge was abuzz this morning over Izbor Miss i Mr Hrvatske - how gorgeous all the contestants were, the great stage, the classical music, and the overall stylish, sensational presentation. Too bad the show did poorly in the TV ratings. At least that is what Boris told everyone in the lounge. He said it trailed behind Big Brother, of all things!

MISS AND MISTER CROATIA 2011

The new Miss and Mister Croatia 2011 were crowned just moments ago during a live, glittering nationally-televised gala. The new Miss Croatia 2011 is Katarina Prnjak, 21 and 1m73, and the new Mister Croatia 2011 is Vanja Grgec, 24 and a mighty 1m89. Studly Vanja studied in the USA at DePaul University, where he played varsity tennis.

CROATIAN MODESTY

Croatian modesty -what is that? Beautiful people living in a beautiful land have nothing to be modest about! And who looks better in a speedo than a member of the Croatian national water polo team? Well, maybe Lucas Malvacini, Mister Brazil 2011. Oh, dear, we are getting off subject here.

Tomorrow, there will be two new beautiful Croatians (Miss i Mister Hrvatske) with nothing to be modest about, so Croatian anticipation is on tiptoe to say the very least. Helping us bide the time is none other than one of Beauty School's all-time favorite Miss World contestants, Anica Martinovic Kovack, Miss World Croatia 1995 and Miss World 1995 first runner-up. In this photo spread here, she pays homage to the 1960's groovy, gorgeous super secret agent Modesty Blaise, popularized in both a comic strip and movie.

Boris makes his pick!

Today's Pick of the Day, Miss Universe Croatia, Lana Obad, is courtesy of Boris, Beauty School's Security Officer. Boris is originally from Croatia, so it makes sense that he would pick Miss Croatia. We all know that one of the tell-tale signs of Miss Universe fever is intense nationalism, but we do think that Boris made a good pick. Lana is gorgeous!

Winning the Miss and Mister Croatia 2010 titles tonite were Katarina Banić, 20, and Radovan Stošić, 22. First runner-up for Mister Croatia 2010 was Nikola Kamenarić, and second runner-up was Stiven Razmilić. Miss Croatia 2010 first runner-up was Anastazija Đurić, and second runner-up was Ivana Ljutić. The glittering, nationally-televised ceremony was held at the Sveti Martin Spa and Golf Resort.
