Kurara Chibana, Miss Universe Japan 2006 and first runner-up at Miss Universe 2006, was the guest lecturer in Prof. Chandni's chemistry class today. She showed the class how to make your own organic lipstick in case your pageant roommate steals yours. She demonstrated the lipstick to the strains of the classic Connie Francis song "Lipstick on Your Collar." Afterwards, Prof. Chandni showed clips of the Miss Universe 2006 pageant and used her laser pointer to indicate good vs. bad application of lipstick on the beauty delegates. She did not show the crowning moment clip, however, stating, "Kurara was robbed...just like I never watch President Bush on TV, I never watch the crowning moment of Miss Universe 2006."
Connie Francis...she could put on lipstick without getting any on her opera gloves...just like the very best beauty delegates of the 1950's and 1960's. Needless to say, Connie Francis is one of our beloved librarian Lorraine's all-time favorite singers.
