1GOAL

Miss South Africa 2008 Tatum Keshwar was welcomed by pupils of Winnie Ngwekasi Primary School in Soweto last week. World leaders and footballers rallied behind a FIFA-backed campaign called 1GOAL to educate poor African children, as part of the legacy of the continent’s first football World Cup next year. The 1GOAL campaign is supported by Queen Rania of Jordan, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma, and according to 1GOAL an extra $7bn is needed to educate some 75mn African children who are out of school.
