Continuing with our series "First Ladies in the Spotlight," we feature Japan's Kurara Chibana, first runner-up at Miss Universe 2006. She wow'ed the crowd during the finals with her catwalk and personality. She was definitely the crowd favorite, but somehow came up short in the final balloting, missing the crown (by a hair we hope) to Puerto Rico's Zuleyka Rivera. Ms. Chibana took the loss on the chin and has become a fashion and beauty icon in Japan. Currently, she has a monthly column in the Japanese fashion magazine Domani. The feature is called "Kurara's Voice." Kurara, your voice will always be in our hearts and you will always be our sentimental Miss Universe 2006.
