That's a line from an old American Television show of the 1950's & 60's. It applies here. In 1974 the chain of events at the pageant held in the Philippines went something like this. Miss Spain, Amparo Mu
oz won the title. Her first runner-up was Helen Morgan of the United Kingdom. Taking the position of second runner-up was this classic Finnish beauty, Johanna Rauino. After the Philippines, Helen would go on to win the title of Miss World 1974, but had to quit when it was discovered she had an 18-month old child. Against the rules. Same rules applied at the Miss Universe pageant, which meant she was no longer the first runner-up eligible to step in the title if something should happen to Amparo. You still with me? Well, as it turns out something did happen to Amparo. She basically quit after months of her reign. With no first runner-up to replace her, all logic suggests that the second runner-up should have assumed the title. That would be Johanna pictured here. It didn't happen, the Miss Universe organizers just let it pass.
Johanna, you were robbed and would have been a stunning Miss Universe.
