BEAUTY WITH A PURPOSE

That's the Andrew Sisters pictured above. USO entertainers. This weekend is "Memorial Day" in the USA, a time to remember those men and women who have served this country in times of war and strive. For years, in order keep up the morale of the troops during trying times, the entertainment industry put its best foot forward. At first it was Hollywood stars and chart Topping singers. Eventually, the ladies of pageantdom entered the picture and we salute their courage and commitment to supporting our troops. They really did not have to do this. But they did and we're proud of them 100%.

Here is a Miss America USO troupe from 1966, featuring Miss Maine, Miss South Carolina, Miss America Jane Jayroe, Miss Alabama, and Miss Connecticut entertaining the troops in Viet Nam.
